Updated: Oct 4, 2023

WARD 4 CITY COUNCILLOR MARK MCKENZIE BECOMES THE FIRST ELECTED OFFICIAL IN WINDSOR TO HOST A WEEKLY PODCAST

Ward 4 City Councillor Mark McKenzie launched "The Windsor Podcast with Mark McKenzie" . McKenzie is the first elected official in the City to have a weekly podcast. "I felt that this was another way to communicate with residents, and let them know what's going on at City Hall on a weekly basis," said McKenzie. "Residents don't always know what's on the council or committee agendas, and this is a great way to inform the public of what's being discussed at our meetings."

McKenzie's first guest is a council colleague, Ward 3's Renaldo Agostino. The City Councillor is no stranger to the microphone, having previously worked for 17+ years as an award-winning radio host.

McKenzie believes the podcast is a great way to keep the public informed.

McKenzie says since being elected, starting a podcast has always been in the back of is mind. "I've been wanting to do it for a while and now I'm almost a year in and I figured now's a good time," he says. "I got my feet wet, I'm pretty comfortable in the position now and I've been able to kind of schedule things a little bit better right and so I figured now's a good time to launch this."

McKenzie says that he plans to release a new episode weekly featuring other elected officials from Windsor and Essex County, as well as other high profile individuals. “This is a great opportunity to have those in depth conversations, in a less formal way" says McKenzie. "This isn't just a show about politics, but everything that affects the residents of Windsor-Essex."

"The Windsor Podcast with Mark McKenzie" is available free at WindsorPodcast.com, Spotify, and all other major podcast and streaming apps.
